Here's exactly how we make ours — and why it matters for what you feel.

Hot water extraction is the industry standard. It's not enough.

The functional mushroom industry runs almost entirely on hot water extraction. It's not a bad process — beta-glucans are real, well-studied compounds, and hot water pulls them effectively.

But mushrooms contain hundreds of bioactive compounds: terpenoids, ergosterols, lectins, enzymes, and others we're still cataloguing. A standard hot water extract captures maybe 20–30% of that complexity. Everything else gets left behind.

We think that's worth fixing.

What full-spectrum actually means.

Full-spectrum extraction uses both hot water and alcohol in sequence — each solvent unlocks a different class of compounds. Water-soluble compounds first. Alcohol-soluble compounds second. Nothing removed. Nothing left on the floor.

The result is an extract that reflects the whole mushroom, not a standardized fraction of it.

Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction — before a drop of solvent touches the material.

Before extraction begins, we run the fruiting body material through an ultrasonic process — high-frequency sound waves that create microscopic cavitation in the liquid. When those bubbles collapse, they rupture cell walls mechanically, without heat or harsh solvents.

The effect: dramatically higher compound diffusion before a single drop of solvent touches the material.

This technology is standard in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical research. It's not common in the supplement industry. We think it should be.

Our dual solvent system uses organic cane alcohol and purified water — both USDA organic compliant. No synthetic solvents. No shortcuts.

Together they extract the full range: beta-glucans and polysaccharides, terpenoids, phenolic compounds, ergosterols, flavonoids, and secondary metabolites that don't have names yet but likely matter.

Why we don't isolate.

There's a trend in the supplement industry toward isolated actives — extract one compound, standardize to a percentage, put it on the label.

We go the other direction. The research on mushrooms increasingly points to synergy between compound classes, not single actives. Isolating one compound and throwing away the rest is like juicing an orange and discarding the fiber, the flavonoids, and everything that makes the orange more than its vitamin C content.

Full-spectrum is a philosophy, not just a process. It means we trust the organism.

Fruiting body only. Always.

Every extract starts with USDA Certified Organic fruiting bodies — no mycelium on grain, no filler. Mycelium grown on grain introduces starch content and dilutes potency. We don't use it.

We work with Lion's Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps militaris, Turkey Tail, and select other functional species depending on the project — at the strain level, not just the species level.

What's the difference between full-spectrum and a standard extract?
Standard hot water extracts capture beta-glucans and polysaccharides. Full-spectrum extraction adds an alcohol phase to capture terpenoids, ergosterols, and other compounds a single solvent misses. You're getting the whole mushroom, not a fraction of it.
What is Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction?
A mechanical pre-treatment using ultrasonic waves to rupture cell walls before extraction, increasing compound yield without added heat or solvents. Standard in pharmaceutical research — less common in the supplement industry.
Do you use fruiting bodies or mycelium?
Fruiting bodies only. Mycelium grown on grain introduces starch content and dilutes potency — we don't use it in any product.
Are your extracts organic?
Yes. USDA Certified Organic across our inputs and processes wherever possible. That includes our solvent — organic cane alcohol, not synthetic ethanol.
